At 02.53.58 BST, Dona Bertarelli and Yann Guichard’s Spindrift 2 crossed the finish line in Plymouth as the fastest multihull boat at the 2013 Rolex Fastnet Race.
The fleet’s largest yacht at 131-ft completed the course in an elapsed time of 38 hours, 53 minutes and 58 seconds.
At 11:00 BST on Tuesday morning, Esimit Europa 2 was leading the charge for monohull line honours. The 100-ft Maxi was some 150-nm from Plymouth travelling at 13 knots. Her advantage over nearest rival ICAP Leopard (GBR) was 16-nm. Ten monohull boats had rounded the Fastnet Rock by 11:00 BST this morning.
